The Centre building has been made following universal accessibility criteria and design for every one. The equipment obeys to functional criteria for easy guidance and setting up an environment similar to familiar one and that makes respect for users’ privacy easier.
Working classes as well as professionals’ offices are equipped with the necessary infrastructure together with new technologies facilities (computing, Internet, videoconference,…).
The National Reference Centre for Rare Diseases in Burgos has two different areas:
In this zone, different management areas are located, classrooms, living-rooms and necessary equipment to develop the Centre Reference Services, as well as multidiscipline care areas: professionals’ offices and their working rooms.
It is organized in twelve independent apartments for twelve families of four members each. Every apartment has two double bedrooms (with the possibility of becoming triple ones), toilets and living room with kitchenette.
It has a free zone with different multiuse rooms, aimed at the programmes of Rare Diseases Multidiscipline Care Services (Samer in Spanish).
It also has library, video library and other rooms for meeting and communicating each other, such as cafeteria and outside garden area.
