Tasks

The Centre will develop two main tasks, Reference Service and Attention Service’s typical ones.

Reference Services are specialized resources in research, study, knowledge and training of professionals who care for the patients and their families or work in this area, as well as expert resources in knowledge management, generating and spreading best practices and technical support. They have been created to promote better quality of life and social involvement of these people and their families.

Reference Services are organized in:

  • Technical Area I: Training, Technical Support and Institutional Cooperation.
  • Technical Area II: Information, Documentary Department, Research and Evaluation.
  • Direct Attention Services, which are those the Centre puts at the service of people affected by rare diseases and their families and concerned NGO, they are a series of specific services, which will be developed through all the year, in order these people and their families can take part in meetings with other people affected by similar diseases, sharing space and time which allowed them to interchange impressions and also keep in touch with professionals or experts, to be able to, among other things, learn how to face the disease, improve their care skills and their self-autonomy.

Direct Attention Services are:

  • Attention to Families and NGO Services.
  • Social and Health Attention Services.
  • Rare Diseases Multidisciplinary Attention Services (Samer in spanish).
